Among many other honors, Nora served for two years as the Acting United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, and was specially appointed in 2008 by the Attorney General of the United States to supervise an investigation of the firing of nine U.S. Attorneys.

In addition to her federal government service, Nora also served as the Deputy Attorney General of the State of Connecticut for almost three years, and, in the private sector for six years, was Associate General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for United Technologies Corporation.
